Description
The intention with this work was to focus on a search for a composition that was based entirely on line and structural elements. This was nothing like what the artist had attempted previously. The rotation of the work methodology was used, as in all previous exercises, to avoid preconceiving the piece. Conceptual preconceiving a work significantly compromises the quality of the art created by restricting the artist’s access to his mind’s stored experiences – experiences that draw from the unconscious mind’s storehouse of memory. The artist is now free to recall unconsciously the memory of unique experiences and automatically apply them during the composition search process. The transfer of these stored memories, life’s influences, are what is expressed in the compositions they create…much like the architectural character that inherently appears in the artist’s work in this piece…defining naturally a personal style.
